DTI Celebrates the Achievements of its Fourth Cohort: Shaping Futures, Transforming Lives

DTI is pleased to announce that its fourth cohort of 217 learners has completed a rigorous 12-month intensive skills training program in Precision Welding and Fabrication, Design Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The class of 2022/2023 ended the academic year to mark a significant milestone on their student journey on 28th July 2023 with a glitzy prom night held to bring together for the last time the entire class before their final graduation in November.

This glitzy evening was a grand finale to the learners' educational journey and marked the most significant of the academic year for building school spirit. It allowed the learners to reflect on their journey at DTI before transitioning into six months of work experience learning (WEL)and to promising jobs with knowledge, skills, and confidence.

Amidst the glam and glitz, learners who had distinguished themselves throughout the year were honoured to inspire their fellow learners and highlight the culture of excellence that defines DTI. The event was a testament to DTI's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages learners to reach for the stars.

One hundred eighty-seven learners who met the WEL criteria were placed in 95 companies across Ghana for a mandatory six-month Workplace Experience Learning (WEL). Their internship commenced on September 1, 2023, and is scheduled to end on February 29, 2024. This practical work experience is crucial as part of the requirement towards the award of their CTVET certification by the regulator, the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education Training (CTVET). We are confident that our learners will excel during this period, acquire invaluable work experience, and enhance their employability prospects.

Nine learners have chosen to further their education in DTI's Certificate Two program offerings. Their commitment to continuous learning is commendable and sets a remarkable example for their peers.

Additionally, thirteen learners have embarked on an entrepreneurial path, transitioning to the Community Innovation (CIP) incubation hub. We commend their entrepreneurial spirit and wish them every success in their endeavours.

DTI is proud of the diverse backgrounds of its learners. This diversity underscores DTI's commitment to inclusivity and diversity and creating a learning environment that embraces learners from all walks of life. We remain dedicated to nurturing lifelong learning. We are confident that these outstanding learners will significantly impact their industries, drive innovation, and contribute meaningfully to closing the skills gaps in Ghana. We congratulate our learners on their achievements and look forward to a future filled with boundless opportunities and successes.
